Role Overview

We are seeking motivated and community-oriented Agripreneurs to support agricultural extension services and market linkages within Ward-based Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The Agripreneurs will play a critical role in mobilizing farmers into value chain-based Common Interest Groups (CIGs) and Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups (VMGs) at the FPO Level, supporting agricultural data collection, providing climate-smart advisory services, and facilitating access to bundled agricultural services.

The role is designed to promote self-employment, hands-on service delivery, and sustainable agribusiness development at the grassroots level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aggregate farmer demand for agricultural inputs including fertilizers, certified seeds, agrochemicals, and mechanization services
  • Aggregate farm produce to meet market orders coordinated through FPOs and identified offtakers
  • Support delivery of farm services such as farmer trainings, pruning, grafting, pest and disease control, and other crop husbandry practices where applicable
  • Facilitate linkages between farmers and approved agritech solutions through digital service catalogue systems
  • Mobilize farmers at the ward and FPO level into value chain–based CIGs and link them to SACCOs, markets, and other service providers
  • Guide farmers through government e-voucher registration and redemption processes
  • Collect, enter, and submit accurate farmer and farm-level data promptly at the ward level
  • Ensure proper and responsible use of smartphones and assigned digital tools
  • Provide daily activity updates and periodic field reports to FPOs and mentors
Minimum Requirements
  • Must demonstrate practical experience in agripreneurship or agri-based enterprise development
  • Applicants must be between 25 and 45 years of age
  • Must reside within the target ward where extension services will be delivered
  • Must have completed the Agripreneur Model Boot Camp
  • Own a smartphone running Android version 11 or higher
  • Minimum of a 2-year certificate in Agriculture or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to use mobile applications and basic digital tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with respectful engagement of farmers
  • Willingness and ability to work in field-based agricultural extension environments
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection requirements
  • Basic understanding of cooperative, FPO, or farmer group systems
  • Fluency in the local language of the area of operation
  • Trustworthy, responsible, and of high integrity
